What is a Personal Care Home?

Personal care at Welsh Mountain Home offers a residential living experience for adults who value their independence but benefit from daily support, including:

Daily Life and Resident Experience

Life at Welsh Mountain Home is purpose-filled and feels like home. Comfortable living rooms and sitting areas invite you to read, play a game, or simply relax with friends. Residents enjoy private rooms with the option of private or semi-private baths, plus three home-style meals and snacks served daily in our welcoming dining area.

Christ centered care, and social and spiritual Christ-centered activities are ongoing. Each day, residents have access to daily devotions, activities, community spaces, and beautiful outdoor grounds.

Personal Care vs. Other Living Options

In a personal care home, residents receive hands-on assistance with everyday activities of daily living and medication management. WMH is not a medical model and cannot provide skilled nursing services. A home health agency comes onsite to provide physical and occupational therapy and wound care, if needed. WMH honors your right and wishes to die at home with dignity and partners with many different hospice organizations.

Nursing homes: offer licensed medical and rehabilitative care for individuals with ongoing medical needs
Assisted living: often provides similar support to personal care but may feel more clinical or larger in scale
Independent living: residents live independently without daily assistance, though optional support services may be available as needed

Our mission and ministry are “to never ask you to leave home due to your finances.” Welsh Mountain Home will adjust your rate according to your monthly income after you’ve spent down your savings and assets. Rates may be flexible for individuals with limited income.
