Marvin Shared his Story about Finding Community & You’re Invited to Help

This Christmas season, you are invited to give before December 31 to keep Welsh Mountain Home an affordable home with excellent care. Marvin, a current resident, was willing to share his story.

Marvin grew up and lived in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania all of his life. For most of his career, he worked making small precision parts for machinery. He enjoyed being outdoors and after he retired, he continued to enjoy being outside. However, as he aged, he wasn’t taking as good of care of himself as he once did.

“When I lived alone, I wasn’t eating right. I wasn’t doing much by myself and my rent kept going up. One of my sisters recommended Welsh Mountain Home and I am so glad I am here now. If I hadn’t found this place, I would be standing outside looking in. They take good care of me. I’m grateful,” Marvin shared.

Now Marvin enjoys eating healthy food. He likes participating in activities within the community and he really enjoys watching deer right outside his window. He is also thankful to remain close to his sisters who live nearby.
