You are invited to give $120 to provide one day of affordable, compassionate care for a resident at Welsh Mountain Home. Below, Vaughn shared his story and how he found a home at Welsh Mountain Home.
Vaughn has been a resident at Welsh Mountain Home for two years. He worked for over 20 years at Lancaster General as a physical therapist assistant. He liked helping others although there were times that the work was very intense. After he retired, he stayed in Lancaster.
Vaughn is easy to talk to and has a calm demeanor and a contagious smile. He shared that he used to drink a lot, but in the 1980s his life was turned around during a Billy Graham convention. From thereon, he stopped drinking and began attending church.
Years later, he was living in an environment that wasn’t healthy for him. His brother and sister offered to help him find a new home that he could afford. They found Welsh Mountain Home, and he moved.
“I love it here. I wish I had come here first,” Vaughn shared with enthusiasm. “I like all the care staff, the food, and I have a lot of friends.”
Vaughn is just one of several residents at Welsh Mountain Home who has found an affordable, loving home where he is provided the services and care that he needs.
Your gift of $120 provides one day of affordable, compassionate care for a resident like Vaughn. As a friend of Welsh Mountain Home, you know how passionate we are about helping older adults whose personal incomes fall below $1,550 a month. Vaughn, and other residents, will feel God’s love through the love you show when you keep their home affordable.
